This is what goes on behind the scenes whenever you open your mouth to speak.
The image was captured at 50 frames per second over 20 seconds with a rapid-fire X-ray camera. It's part of speech researcher Christine Ericsdotter's work to precisely capture and build a computer model of the intricate movements of the tongue, lips, pharynx and jaw during speech.
If you're curious, the word being said here is "pion," Swedish for "peony."

Created using 3DSmax, Zbrush and Photoshop, the attention to detail and expression are fantastic.

Absolutely incredible detail, the artist really captured the emptiness in her eyes and created a character deep in thought.

Fantastic modelling, texturing and shading make this utterly realistic, you will think it’s a photograph. An amazing achievement in 3D realism.

An incredibly striking, beautiful, realistic and moving portrait with an interesting story behind it.

A superb model of Sephiroth from Final Fantasy with the rendering taking 3 hours and the post production taking 6 hours.

This is a Tuatara reptile which is native to New Zealand. It was created in Illustrator and the words used are those that describe the creature.

In total there were 1612 words used all of them read the number Three. Each was individually set and not copied and pasted.

This has a delicate ethereal quality which is due to the fantastic use of light, gradients and colour.

One of the pieces here that delivers the biggest impact, combining photography and typography with a message behind it.

The word “typomin” is a combination of the words typography and vitamin. The image is composed solely of the letters “M”, “O” and “C”.

The wonderful effect that the face has exploded with typography is mesmerising to look at.
